Krzysztof Motyka

Born in 1954 in Opole. Graduated in 1979 from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He practices painting, drawing, photography, and editorial graphics. Author of numerous artistic installations and set designs.

He has published several original photography albums (published by LIBRA).

Author of the artistic installation “BIRDS,” created at EXPO 2000 in Hannover, promoting the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, and also exhibited at the EUROPALIA 2001 festival in Brussels. Since 1979, associated with the Wanda Siemaszkowa Theatre in Rzeszów. Author of over 35 stage designs for theatre spectacles and performances, and over 200 posters.

Since 2000, he has primarily focused on theatre poster design.

His posters have been exhibited e.g. at international exhibitions in: the Warsaw Biennial, Lahti, Mexico City, La Paz, Trnava, Toyama, Seoul, and Sofia. Awards at biennials in Katowice and Yerevan, and competitions in Vilnius, Krakow, and Zielona Góra. For 36 years the initiator and long-time curator of the International Theatre Poster Biennial in Rzeszów.
